Glad is the Day is back!

Glad is the Day is back and packed with more energy than ever before. This unique (and free) music festival was launched in 2016 after Donostia/San Sebastián was appointed European Cultural Capital and has been celebrated in Cristina Enea Park every year since. Although this year, due to the expected weather conditions, the music will be moved to the music venues Le Bukowski and Dabadaba.

Despite its infancy, Glad is the Day is a festival that the people of San Sebastián have quickly grown to love. Perhaps it is because of the atmosphere that is created in the park, which draws a strikingly diverse crowd: families, young people, music lovers, neighbourhood residents ... There is room for everyone at this festival that combines good music with a first-class natural space.

The park, the real headliner

Glad is the Day is actually a celebration of Cristina Enea Park, which is the true headliner of the event. This urban park is perfectly designed for enjoying a full range of cultural activities, its location and history making it the ideal venue for a festival like this.

Two stages: the main stage and “Ruina Sónica”

Naturally, the music at Glad is the Day is extremely diverse. Everything from cumbia and indie to trap and electronic music is on offer, the latter with its own stage, called “Ruina Sónica (Sonic Ruin)”, which will host eight DJs from across the region.

But there’s more than just music!

Besides music, Glad is the Day also features a can’t-miss flea market with about 50 stalls for crafts and fashion, where you can find everything from vintage clothing to creations by local artists. These small temporary shops full of fascinating products are well worth a visit.

  • Oh, and there will also be activities for kids and the entire family!

Since you can enter and exit Glad is the Day as many times as you want, we recommend taking a walk through this wooded park between concerts. You’ll discover some of its unique spots: the oval, the pond, and the Cristina Enea Estate. Cristina Enea Park tells the beautiful story of its former owners, Fermín and Cristina, Dukes of Mandas.
